Job Description This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced data specialist to join the Environment Agencys Price Review team, to lead our approach to data management and bring innovation to this area of work. The 5 yearly round of water company price reviews produces the largest environmental investment programme in the country and is the most significant contributor to the environmental improvements required of Defras 25year Environment Plan. We are a national team providing technical services, advice and guidance to the wider business, water companies and external stakeholder. As a senior specialist, you may be required to Take responsibility for complex areas of data management work for the business, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to compliance and policy issues. Develop and maintain effective relationships with other national leads, professional networks, partners and stakeholders. Create, review and improve business processes and ways of working while ensuring efficient use of people and resources within wider priorities Support the training and development of junior team members and other subject matter experts. The team The Price Review Delivery team comprises 8 professionals sitting within EB Operations Catchment Services. We programme manage and coordinate the delivery of the water company price review programme, helping to provide assurance for the organisation. We work closely with Environment and Business colleagues to receive strategic steer and policy direction and with internal area and operational teams to provide them with support and guidance. Externally our customers include water companies Defra, Ofwat and Natural England. Experienceskills Required We are seeking individuals with strong data management and analysis experience, and preferably water company planning experience though this is not essential. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of data issues facing the Environment Agency, as well as current future trends in data science, with a willingness to dive deeper into the detail where required. You will be able to demonstrate some of the following Proven track record of managing large and complex dataset and systems Support work to transform our data management approach Significant experience in a data protection role and deep knowledge of key issues and concepts Actively help grow networks across the Environment Agency ability to build relationships with a wide variety of stakeholder groups, see issues from multiple perspectives and gain consensus, delivering results through others to get the best outcome.
